Mr. Miller lived at the end of Arthur J. Warner the Second's paper route.
Mr. Miller raised and trained Labrador Retrievers.
Labrador Retrievers are big dogs that people use for duck hunting.
When the hunter shoots a duck and it falls into the lake, the Labrador Retriever swims out to the duck and carries it very carefully, in it's mouth, back to the hunter.
One day, Arthur J. Warner the Second stopped at Mr. Miller's house to deliver the paper.
It was raining pretty hard and he wanted to finished up his paper route and get back to his nice, warm house.
Arthur J. Warner the Second could hear a lot of barking coming from the garage.
"Come on," yelled Mr. Miller. "Get out here!"
Curiosity got the best of Arthur J. Warner the Second and he walked around the house to investigate.
"Blasted dog!" yelled Mr. Miller.
"What's wrong, Mr. Miller?" asked Arthur J. Warner the Second.
"Oh, hello Arthur," said Mr. Miller.
"I'm trying to get my dogs outside and this darn dog won't come out with the others."
Mr. Miller was tugging on the collar of one of his Labrador Retrievers.
The dog wouldn't move outside.
It kept barking and twisting its head back and forth, straining at the collar.
All the other dogs were outside. Running and jumping in the rain puddles, barking and having a good time.
"Why won't he come outside?" asked Arthur J. Warner the Second.
"He is a big chicken," said Mr. Miller. "He is afraid of the rain!"
"What's his name?" asked Arthur J. Warner the Second.
"Rocky," said Mr. Miller. "Rocky the Water Chicken Dog!"
