Freddy and Pa were waiting in the barn when two trucks pulled into the driveway.
Four men climbed out of the trucks and walked into the barn. They carried black leather suitcases.
"Lo Walter," said the foreman of the group. "How was your winter?"
"Not too bad. We had twenty-five lambs this spring so I guess by next year, we will have even more sheep for you to shear."
"That's what I like to hear," laughed the foreman. "The more sheep I have to shear, the happier I am."
"Oh by the way, Lawrence Johnson is expecting you tomorrow. Is that right?"
The foreman pulled a small wire notebook from the pocket on the front of his coveralls. He turned a few pages and said, "Ayup...we will be there in the morning."
The men had pulled coveralls out of the suitcases and put them on. Two of the men were holding shears. They moved the handles back and forth signaling they were ready.
"Let's get started men," said the foreman as he strode to the back of the barn
and brought in the first sheep.
